What is it I envy most about Jeff Lynne? Tough question!

What I admire and respect in him isn't necessarily what I envy.

I suppose, of his attributes, the ones I wish I had myself are -

1. His natural, supernaturally good song writing skills. The ability to know just what to add and what to take away from his music to make it perfect.

2. His friend-making skills and his friend-keeping skills. It can't be easy to be so close to such important musical characters and still be able to view them with great respect and admiration.

3. His courage. He and Roy had ambitious ideas for ELO and they seem to have succeeded where other rock acts have failed in building on their dreams.

I envy Him owning Bungalow Palace. The ultimate "Boys Toy"! An idyllic retreat, near enough to where he needs to be, but far away from where he doesn't want to be. Where he can sit in any room and create beautiful music.
