Same here. It's a shame to be so cynical but he made us this way.

Same here. It's a shame to be so cynical but he made us this way. I think you meant "sceptical", didn't you? Which doesn't go against the fact that you may be cynical as well...

I don't discriminate. I can be both at the same time. We women are good at multi-tasking

I'm also spectacle about the new album and tour.but then I was about the Hyde Park gig and look what happened there.I think I may have to get my mate who works at the bbc to have a word with Chris Evans

You have a mate who works at the bbc? You kept that quiet - next time Damey is on we all expect backstage passes and the key to his dressing room

The way I see it, Jeff has gotten our hopes up in the past because he had no incentive to release a new album or tour anytime soon. Since then, he has finally been convinced that the world wants more Jeff Lynne/ELO - proved by The Grammys performance, the Hollywood honor, and last year's concert event. With a consistent manager and PR team now keeping him on track with tours and record releases, he's finally giving us fans what we have been waiting for.
Still, there's always that shadow of doubt (which I'm usually good at ignoring)...once I see the official news release and album artwork on his Facebook page, I will feel better. From a PR standpoint, I can imagine them announcing the album and tour in June or July, with the album released around August or so.

This is interesting... “ I had to practice standing up and playing guitar and singing at the same time, because I had been playing sitting down in a studio for, like, 30 years. I realized it is a whole different way of looking at the guitar when you are standing up. All you can only see is the top edge of the fret board. I had been used to sitting down on a stool and playing it. It is a totally different view of the guitar" That's true. It's easier to play the guitar when you are sitting, 'cause you can "Move" it toward your chest, and you can look at the fret easily. Unless your stomach is as big as Thomas Walsh's lol And obviously Gibson guitars are really heavy, so I doubt he can play that guitar for a whole show. To be honest I don't expect so many tour dates, don't forget he's 67 years old

I hope the tour doesn't burn Jeff out if it's some 100 city ordeal. I would guess it's going to be just a few select cities, though.
