We saw it last Saturday (13th July Mrs T's birthday) Since we stayed in Uxbridge which is where Timeblue Jnr lives the journey to Stratford at the other side of London took 1 1/2 hours on the tube, eek...! The show is presented in a purpose built arena that is a little way out of the station (just a bit further than West Ham Uniteds ground) Once inside, the build up to the show was fun, the backdrop showed a nightime wooded scene which was very mesmeric and something always seemed to be happening on it. No cameras were allowed once the show started and this was enforced, that's why there are not a great deal of photos to be seen on youtube etc. A fantastic show ensued with just about every major hit of theirs played, even a few popular album tracks too. The effects are so good that it did look like Abba were there in front of our eyes, also a big shout out for the lighting effects too, obviously since this is a permanent show in the same arena and therefore don't need to be assembled and disassembled every night, the lights, lasers and other visual effects were superb. Our only misgivings were two animated videos(Eagle and Voulez Vous), songs that were played on the big screens without the avatars on stage and the fact that although this supposed to be Abba from the late 70's they sang songs from later years with Bjorn and Benny minus the beards which didn't quite seem right! otherwise it was a fantastic show and we totally believed that Abba were there live. Also at the end when the real Abba came on was a special moment too! If anyone is thinking of going, you won't regret it!

It certainly is some thing special, I agree. I was working there a couple of months ago for the 2nd anniversary, when Benny and Bjorn turned up for a surprise Q&A before the show and stayed afterwards to watch. On a technical level it is an astonishing achievement and at the cutting edge of what A/V tech can do or could do then, as this is a couple of years old so goodness knows what they can produce now. The huge 8K LED projections are crystal clear and the "abbatars" stunning. It is absolutely worth going, even if you are not especially an Abba fan as the show in itself is the attraction. It is usually sold out every show but if you book far enough in advance you can get reasonably priced tickets and it is well worth it as you really will not have seen anything like it before. At the time, the avatar rendering process did not handle things like facial hair very well, hence the reason Benny and Bjorn are clean shaven! Its booking to next January and will probably continue long after that so if you get the chance, go!

Certainly sounds as if it lives up to the hype, thanks for the reveiews When you say Real Abba came on, Timeblue, I'm guessing it was on film and not in the flesh? Or was Mrs T's birthday worth paying them to turn up?

Or was Mrs T's birthday worth paying them to turn up? To answer your question, yes, it's only on screen, as they are now,(or were, a couple of years ago). It's a nice touch, to end the show.

Yes, at the end of the concert and the group disappears down under the stage, everyone thought it was the end of the show. Then all four walked on as they look now and that drew gasps as everyone thought it was them 'live'! Obviously it wasn't and it was just filmed but it showed how authentic the show was.
