Roy has a point, there is too little data on these things and the powers that be are pushing the idea that electric cars are the answer to fossil fuels. Although they are coming down in price, they are still far too expensive for the average household.

Now that Roy won't purchase an electric car, he should try creating some new electricity with Jeff Lynne.

chuckin' my twopenneth in here . I drive an EV .It's a MG 4 and it's great . I have a 50 mile round trip commute each day. I use a home granny charger ( off a normal 13amp 3 pin plug socket.)I use cheap over night electricity and it's saved me a fortune in running costs.
It was cheaper to buy than my last car (£26K as opposed to £28K) So well within the price of many households. has a 230 mile range and is really well equipped . It also drives so much better than many petrol or diesel cars I've had . And I've had loads as I used to work in the Motor Trade. I've done a few long trips and haven't had any issues with chargers etc . And it hasn't caught fire . Unlike that Range Rover that nearly burnt down Luton airport recently!
I don't think that anyone in their right mind is saying that EV's are the ultimate answer . Ev's form just part of the overall drive to try and reduce the impact we are having on the climate.
