In looking at the second cover, the thought came to me: Did the original ELO ever play countries like Spain, Portugal, or countries in central or south America?

No, they didn't. Jeff Lynne never set foot on a South American country as far as I know, and he definitely never did it on a tour. And in Central America, I doubt it (though I think I recall from Bev's autobiography that he -Bev- had gone on vacations to Honduras), given how poor and dangerous it is. Only ELO Part 2 came to Argentina a couple of times.

And zooming farther out in the ELO universe, The Orchestra has managed to play in South America a number of times since ELO Part II folded in 1999.
