After last years flying lesson I'm now going to be jumping out of one! This Sunday I shall be in Lincolnshire doing a tandem skydive (a Christmas pressie from Mrs T) I'm sure she is trying to get rid of me....

What a day, quite possibly the best thing I've ever done! 15000 feet, the highest in Europe apparently and I jumped out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft...

Looks like you were having a blast! My youngest nephew did a skydive to celebrate his 30th birthday a few years ago, and he absolutely loved it! I don't know that he made any plans to do it again, though. What about you, Timeblue? Ready to do it again?

From about Wednesday last week the nerves were starting to grow and last night I was feeling VERY apprehensive. This morning though, the nerves had gone and pure excitement was taking over. I wasn't nervous in the slightest, adrenaline maybe? they always say the 'steppin'out' is the worst bit and maybe it was ('after all',it was 15000 ft and I was 'above the clouds') After exiting the aircraft and 'free fallin'' for a minute before the chute deployed I can honestly say that I wasn't scared of this and I would do it again in a heartbeat! My daughter did one 10 years ago and she was there earlier to watch me,so we made a pact to do one together maybe next year! There was also an older guy, maybe in his 70s who jumped whilst I was waiting and he was buzzing when he landed so folk of all ages can do this even you eloneen ! *apologies for the ELO puns (I'm still buzzing!)

Hmmmm.... I'm not sure my sense of adventure runs that deep. My late father- in- law was a career military paratrooper who jumped out of airplanes, mostly in the dark, but from much lower heights than what you did, for 20 years, and he had the bad knees and ankles to prove it. I think he jumped enough for the entire family!

What a rush it must of been. Glad you enjoyed it, Time! You're made of sterner stuff then my brother, who jumped solo, and screamed allllllllll the way down. Great photo! Hot air balloon would be more my speed.

Thanks Timeblue ! Given that much of it was during wartime (Vietnam War) , I'm sure there were lots of emotions!

Congrats, Timeblue! I admire you for enjoying that, personally I already start feeling dizzy when standing on something 2 meters above the ground and I hate going in perfectly closed planes, so what you did is crazy adventurous and brave to me.
Hope you get to do it again in the future and enjoy it as many times as you can.
