According to his family's posts on Facebook, Louis is now sitting up in bed, eating better, getting stronger and will be starting rehab soon.
His son also posted this story:
Gloria (Louis' wife) leaning over to talk to dad in his hospital bed...'Lou, Lou..' dad slowly turns his head toward her..'Lou we're so pleased you're back with us, I will promise you I will NEVER NEVER again turn the channel over when you're watching soccer and I will NEVER moan about it again'. ... Dad in a breathless poorly voice...'it - was - worth it!' Everyone in the ward were in bits laffing.

I went looking for Lou & Lou Jr music on YouTube and couldn't find much. But I did come across this interview with Lou Sr. from about 5 years ago.
he talks about doing the Orange Bowl halftime show in 1981 with a Hooked on Classics medley the stage set was a giant Rubik's Cube, which brings back memories as I spent a couple of weeks that Spring figuring out how to solve the Rubik puzzle

I have read on Facebook that Louis has fallen critically ill due to complications from kidney disease and a cardiac event. It states he has been in intensive care since Thursday evening, he is unconscious and sedated but vitals are currently stable.
The whole forum sends best wishes and a get well soon message to Louis.
