I’ve not seen any further updates, hopefully no news is good news. Maybe just wishful thinking, but no updates might also mean that Lou Jr got the ok to fly to America to see his father. Possibly, but the first update I posted was from a female, either his daughter or granddaughter so information seems to be coming from different family members.

Latest update:
News from Louis Clark's family Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and well wishes. Lou’s vitals are still stable but he’s not completely coming to after being taken off the heavy sedatives he was on. But his wonderful kidney doctor said that it takes much longer for dialysis patients. He even gave me his cellphone number and said to call day or night with any questions. The nurses here are fantastic too and really looking after him The best thing yesterday was that Louis called and asked me to put the phone by his dad’s ear. Lou started to open his eyes and turned his head towards the phone. He even started to move his lips as if he was trying to say something. Louis is a wonderful son and his dad loves him so much and is so proud of him. Much more than Louis knows! He also loves his two beautiful daughters as well of course! And his two grandchildren!

Here’s the latest update
Once again thank you very much for all the messages of support for my Dad. It's now been a month and he's showing small signs of improvement. He is still unconscious but occasionally his eyes open for a few seconds so he's trying to wake up. Last week he was moved to a rehabilitation hospital where the doctors are slowly weaning him off life support. We (the family) are taking all this positively, it was only 4 weeks ago that we feared the worst so it was most welcome news to hear that the doctors had some sort of recovery plan for him. It could be a very slow process but we are positive he can do this, he's done it twice before! We are still working on trying to get a travel exemption and with the help of a friend (thank you so much Linda) who knows someone higher up, we managed to get contact with the US Embassy. They are, however, still looking at our case. Thank you everyone. Louis (Jr.). COME ON DAD! YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Lou's son, Louis Jr, posted this on November 23rd:
I heard news this morning that my Dad tried to respond verbally to Gloria yesterday, this is a major move forward and I will have a good day today.
Update on the travel situation is good news too. Last week my sister Jemma and me were given travel approval from the US Embassy (thanks again to Linda, Mary and Danyell) but on the conditions we can only go once and it has to be before December 15th, so hopefully we'll be traveling in the first week of December after the UK lockdown finishes. Problem now is with covid cases increasing in Ohio at some point it might have to lockdown too, making our travel plans complicated.
- If a lockdown happens from around mid December then we can go.
- If it happens before or around the time that ours ends we can't go.
- What if it happens when we're there? I know that we won't be able to visit the hospital.
I'm in a dilemma whether to book flights now and risk no refund on cancellation or wait until the last second and see what happens in Ohio. It all might come down to having to wait for the vaccine to be administered and in which time the Ol' Man might be back on his feet.
Thanks again everyone for your messages.

On December 3rd, Louis Jr posted:
"Hearing the recent and quite frankly miraculous news of my Dad, and what sounds like he's started fully responding to the nurses, i think I've timed my trip to see him quite well. I get to Cleveland on Monday night and will have to do a Covid test 3-5 days after arrival, isolate for a further 5 and then i can, at long last, go to see him (as long as the hospital doesn't lockdown)."
This sounds really promising, hope the good news keeps coming, Louis.

Latest update on Louis, he is getting better, slowly.
“ What a terrific start to 2021 especially if you're English or American [sarcasm!]...but seriously, for me today what overshadowed the constant grim news and perpetual sharing of hatred spreading memes is seeing my Ol'Man, slowly but steadily, continue a recovery that still shocks the docs! Weaning off the trache collar means he'll soon be eating and drinking again, physio therapy has him moving his legs and arms a bit more, and dexterity in his fingers is starting to return. A happy sight to see him recognise his own arrangement! So I don't care that my Facebook feed carries on throwing up divisive bull shit, I'll just happily sit here with my Ol' Man and grab some priceless words with him between his naps.”
