Very nice! I can definitely hear the ELO, especially in the instrumentation. They also get extra points, because I'm nearly positive that their band name is a Monty Python reference.

These people released a triple album about a week ago. Sounds like Moodies, ELO, and Steely Dan, all of which is fine with me. That is definitely a Monty Python reference. Extra points.

Giorgio Moroder deserves an honorable mention for his vocoder-soaked seventies synthesizer recordings, but the disco beat sounds more like Louis Clark's "Hooked on Classics" than ELO's "Last Train to London."

This song is relevant to this thread. I like the Decemberists, but I'd never really thought of them as "sounding like ELO". I do see them categorized as "Baroque Pop" though, a label that ELO was tagged with early on. Valerie Plame (if that really is your name) is one of the best opening lines to a song.

Two Sheds Jackson released a new album - very ELO-ish ! Great album, thank you so much! An interesting band has in common with the music of the 70s, with the influence ELO. And sounds like Steely Dan

Much in common with "Time" and "Secret Messages"

The intro sounds like Mr. Blue Sky. Lots more about the track will lead you to wrongly believe that Jeff composed, produced or is playing on it.

I heard this on the radio yesterday, I know Francis Rossi is a big ELO fan so it did cross my mind Jeff might have been involved. If he wasn't, I fear Mr R might be hearing from the dreaded Lynne legal team....

my mind Jeff might have been involved The vocal sounds nervously and ugly. The sound is also rough, harsh. If Jeff were involved, everything would be at a high class. for example

There was some speculation on Facebook lately that Yellow Magic Orchestra might have influenced Jeff and Richard on Time. I don't really like their stuff. It sounds clinky and shallow, like a midi player.
