It seems as though it's correct, Billboard Chart February 1978 shows it charted at No72, though not in the UK until September that year!

View AttachmentThat chart is like a snapshot of my AM radio listening on the high school bus - really brings back memories. What is the significance of the light purple circles on some songs?

I wonder what was the reasoning for that, usually 45s were normally in sync or no more than a week or so apart? Cheers....

I'm not really sure, I will ask someone and let you know. Thanks matey! I asked a friend of mine, Patrik Guttenbacher, an ELO collector and here is his reply...... Jet USA decided to release STW as second single for the US/CND market on 18 February 1978. They speeded up the version a bit. Jet UK decided to release Mr. Blue Sky on 20 January 1978 as second single, the the rest of the world followed. Then the distributor changed from UA to CBS, and Jet US released Mr. Blue Sky as third single in the US in Mid June 1978, and Jet UK released Wild West Hero as third single on 26 May 1978. STW was released as fourth UK single on 30 September 1978, US forth single was It's Over on 21 October 1978. So it were just different decisions of how which single release would make it best Patrik Guttenbacher.

Timeblue, I just looked on Wiki and "Out Of The Blue" album was released on October 28th, 1977. I remember "Turn To Stone" on the radio at that time, it seems unreal to think that "Sweet Talkin Woman" wasn't released for nearly a twelve-month later in the UK? They also played it in their world tour throughout 1978, something fishy going on.
