Beatles Sgt Pepper and Alice Cooper Schools Out move on in the competition. Round seven is next, vote for the best two covers from these five, many classic covers in this round. You can make two votes Muse/Muse Jeff Wayne The War of the Worlds ELO Time Beatles Abbey Road Ramones Ramones

I hate to say this, but the cover of Time is among the cheapest looking of ELO covers. It looks like it was created on a very limited budget, which is really odd since the two years before ELO had created two U.S. certified platinum albums. Time was the first ELO album in the U.S. that didn't go platinum since 1975's FTM.

I used to buy records from 'Record Collector' back in the day and the number of times I saw 'WOTW' in the ELO section was crazy....

I'm again going with the Beatles, it's just a classic in every sense. Also, War Of The Worlds. I've always found the music to be a little cliched and dated, even at the time it felt like a 70's concept album too far. Great cover though!

Dithered between Time and WOTW, think Time is going to get through though so plumped for the other Jeff. Also loyally voting for the Muse EP - apparently it's based on a poster seen in the background of a city scene in some iconic film or other, think it might be Blade Runner? Or maybe 1984?

Oh crumbs - what a dilemma! Three great album covers in this lot. I've had to abandon the zebra crossing in favour of the other Jeff's masterpiece. With Time, of course

I'm going to reward simplicity here, because simplicity, properly done, cane be extremely artistic and iconic too.
Abbey Road #1 without a doubt. The times that that picture was imitated not only on that very same zebra crossing but on thousands of them throughout the world is countless.
I do agree with what Lawrev said about Time's cover seemingly have been done on a very cheap budget, but does money equal better quality? I don't think so, particularly when it comes to art, and the cover of Time shows it. Just two colors, a planet emerging out of a pond/sea, a few stains and a few stars, but somethng of great visual impact, at least in my opinion.
