Just watching the story of 2Tone, were you a part of this Horace?

One of my mates was heavily into Two Tone but it wasn’t really for me back in the day although I did like quite a few of the tunes and especially now as I’ve got older. I preferred Visage/Ultravox/Depeche Mode/OMD at the time.
I have got a minor claim to fame, my uncles friend and drinking partner was the Dad of Dave Wakeling, The Beats lead singer. So I could get into their concerts free and had an advanced signed copy of their album Wha'ppen along with t shirt and other merchandise, this of course made my friend mad.
Although not Two Tone a similar band was UB40, they were massive in Birmingham I remember the whole of Reddington Records was covered in their first albums posters. Also used to see Ali Campbell in a pub in Ladywood he would be playing pool, the conversation would go “All right Ali?”, “Yeah I’m good lads”
Over the years I’ve seen live The Beat, Selector (Pauline Black), The Bodysnatchers, Rhoda, UB40 and Bad Manners.
I would like to visit the Two Tone museum in Coventry.

I’ve remember that Dave Wakeling’s dad wasn’t that complementary about his son and the band he thought they were f***ing rubbish and that Dave played his base upside down because he copied McCartney, despite Dave being right handed, an idiot in his dads eyes.

I quite liked The Beat back in the day, 'Mirror In The Bathroom' is excellent...

Still a good memento though.
