I think casual fans would only go to one show, once in a while, so they'd be quite happy just to hear the usual suspects. They probably don't even know many album tracks, let alone deep cuts. But they're the ones who buy tickets in the largest amounts so it's mostly them Jeff needs to try to please. I'm not asking for a complete change of the setlist but Jeff has another 10 or so big hits that he could include (Hold On Tight,Horace Wimp, I'm Alive,Calling America,Don't Walk Away,Ma Ma Ma Belle,Confusion,Ticket To The Moon/Here Is The News,Strange Magic) all top 40 hits including 3 top 10s in the UK. Most of these would be recognizable to the casual fan too and wouldn't it be good to hear Horace, Don't Walk Away and I'm Alive? these 3 biggies have never been sang live by Jeff...

At his age is Jeff willing to put in the work for relearn old songs and stretch out the set list? I don't think so...the last several tours have been relatively static. I guess he won't 'learn' any new songs, (even though he writ them) but he risks more apathy from his real fans if he doesn't change. I seriously felt short changed in 2019 after paying good money to see an almost identical show to Wembley. He doesn't need to extend the show, just change 5 or 6 songs. I'd personally drop Do Ya, 10538, When I was A Boy, Shine A Little Love and Handle With Care, replace with Horace Wimp, Hold On Tight (or any other Time hit) and maybe another song from Eldorado but hey, what do I know and why should Jeff care about what I think..... I didn't go to the Wembley show for precisely that reason. I don't want to feel short changed by my favourite artist. There are plenty of other bands to spend my hard earned on .

As far as alternative tracks go, I'd love to hear:
Across the Border Laredo Tornado Daytripper (great Beatles track that honors his work with the Fab Four) Latitude 88 North The Whale (to give the vocals a break for a few minutes)

I think Across the Border would be a corker, Terry Wogan used to play it a lot so quite a lot of casual fans of a certain age would probably recognise it.

No doubt they would be scratching their heads, but it is an instrumental and I always saw creative possibility with it beyond the recorded version. Perhaps a hot guitar solo by Jeff and less of a reliance on certain keyboard sounds. Jeff always says that the shows must replicate the recorded versions - my take is that the recorded version is the jumping off point for creativity. But then again, Jeff is not a jamming type of rock musician.
