Heh! I did think it was the dead one, now I've already voted for Nightrider. It's closer between these two but Nightrider still edges it for me.

Nightrider seems to be a bit neglected among ELO singles, probably because it failed to chart. I think ELO Part 2 played it live in the late 1990's, but after that it's been pretty much forgotten. But yeah, Bluebird is the better out of these two in my books. It's another case of should-have-been-a-single.

Both are good songs IMO, but Nightrider has that '70s feel to it that gives it an edge.

I would rather listen to Nightrider but I'm voting for Bluebird. The harmonies in that song, plus the guitar solo that is played backwards is just amazing. OK, the solo wasn't played backwards, it was played then reversed and put in the song. How weird and it works! WOW! The creativity in Bluebird is amazing.
