Another important figure from the seventies has left the stage too early. I've always enjoyed this....
RIP

Sad news, 'Music' is a classic...

Music is such a brilliant, unique song and quite enough on its own to make the composer a legend. But John Miles went on and forged a great career. I'm sure I read somewhere that he was courted to join ELO II; it would have been very interesting to see the direction they'd have taken if he'd been on board.
RIP John

Just switched on Radio 2 and Ken's playing High Fly as a tribute to John.

May John Miles rest in peace. "This is Casey Kasem in Hollywood on American Top 40, and you know, 2 years ago a record producer from London named Alan Parsons went to 20th Century Fox Records in Los Angeles with an unusual idea, he wanted to set the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe to rock music, well the record company gave him the go ahead and The Alan Parsons Project was born, what followed was an album of songs based on the works of Poe called, Tales of Mystery and Imagination, this week, the first single from that album by British pop singer John Miles debuts at #39, here's The Alan Parsons Project with, Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether..." - Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from September 11th, 1976
