Not necessarily bad in terms of musical quality, just in terms of personal taste.
One album I truly despised after I bough it and played it, was "Diary of a Madman" by Ozzy Osbourne.
Was very happy to trade that one with my sister's friend for The Police's "Ghost in the Machine"; I felt like I really go the better end of that deal, with all respect to the late great Randy Rhoads.

I always thought if you bought "Hey kids rock n roll" and "only a winters tale" you gotta "get outta jail card" with Dave. I have always steered clear of "hearthrob records" that doesn't mean that I didn't think that he had a bad voice! In comparison to todays "hearthrob braindead nonce pleb" he really could sing! But still! I steered clear of such knobs!

Agree about his vocals and his talent. Will dig it out and see what my older self thinks.

Paul McCartney's 1989 album "Flowers in the Dirt", starts out with just a killer comeback song for him, "My Brave Face", total awesome McCartney melodic-hook heaven, co-written with Elvis Costello.
But then it's just one lame song after another, and the only other two that are even remotely listenable to me are "Put It There" and "This One", which are both above average, IMHO.
But the rest of it, I've tried on more than a few occasion to like and it's just the absolute boringest schlock I have ever heard. He should have made it a 3-song EP, IMHO. He really did put a lot of effort into all of the songs but the ones outside those three just bore me to tears.
Its like there are 3 above average songs, and the other 9 or 10 and way under-average in terms of enjoyablity, to me.

Flaming Pie ('97), was his last one I bought (well second to last, see last sentence). I really enjoy it and still listen to it, though there is a stinker song. Of course he had help! smiley-cool15 and few other worthy artists.
I took the plunge, brought his new one and after one listen took it to a used record/cd store. Right now, I'm done with Sir Paul. Sniff.

I agree, his last CD "New" does absolutely nothing for me but make me not want to play it again. "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" was pretty good; "Memory Almost Full" had some OK stuff anyways. I liked his one called "Back to the Egg" a lot way back when, even though it didn't do much commercially. Jim

The only one I'm aware of is Back to the Egg - do not have. If I see these in a used store, I'll buy. What's a few bucks! Thanks!

Actually "Tug of War" was fairly decent, from 1982 or so. Jim

I wouldn't recall worst album. Recent years being on a tight budget, I have occasionally bought a handful of random CDs on sellouts just to see what they were - usually under $2 each. I think about half have had at least one reasonable track on them, but some were abysmal and got turfed instantly. The cases are OK for replacing damaged ones...

Jim I like the song Brave Face! Checked out used record stores for those albums you wrote about. No one had McCartney, period! Either people are not buying, or love too much to give away!!! HA!
Have a great New Year's, Jim. We don't post much back and forth, so I better get it in now!!!
