Here is the News....it won in match six, and will move on.
In match seven, we have a rather interesting contest as the Idle Race song Girl At the Window takes on Rockaria, from A New World Record.
REMEMBER TO VOTE IN THE POLL OR YOUR VOTE WON'T COUNT

'Girl at the Window' because I love the Idle Race more than I love 'Rockaria'.

how did these 2 songs get paired up? that's like a question from one of vlogdance 's Xmas challenges "John and Paul and Ringo and George were playing lovely tunes from the window of her room" "and Verdi is always creeping from her room" Jeff must have been something of an aural voyeur back in his Shard End days. maybe Mark Knopfler had the same trait? "He's underneath the window She's singing, "Hey la, my boyfriend's back" Rockaria for me, tho it hurts to vote against the girl at the window.

I was lucky enough to see Kelly sing the operatic part on 'Rockaria' a couple of months before his passing. I still get a chuckle whenever I see a video of him doing it.
I thought the Beethoven's 5th reference on 'Rockaria' was very clever when I was getting into ELO. Nowadays it's not among my favorite ELO songs, but the acoustic guitar coming in the right speaker during the last verse is still a high point for me. Rockaria easily beats 'Girl At The Window' which is one the lesser Idle Race songs in my opinion.

I had to listen to both songs before voting, and you know what? I really like GATW. I think I've said it before on various incarnations of this forum, but I really don't like Rockaria. There, I said it.

Totally different songs so it's difficult to choose. Going for Rockaria though as it scores higher on the Epic scale

Rockaria, When our house is empty I play this LOUD... it’s just a rocker of a song.

Awwwwww.. it's a shame GATW is up against a slammer. GATW is a little too precious anyway, so
it is.

Not unexpected, but I'll leave it up overnight(here in the US, anyway) and see what happens....

I'm going with the 'girl' in this one. I LOVE Rockaria to bits! It has THE best chorus ever written. But - Girl At The Window is a cute little number that hints at the brilliance to come. We can't forget those building blocks

I voted for Rockaria as it's a great rocker but Girl At The Window is a fine song. I didn't really know any Idle Race songs until I bought the double CD that came out in 2007 so to me Girl At The Window seems much more recent than Rockaria.
