Sad news, indeed! It's wonderful that Mary Wilson had such a long and successful career, even after the original group was no more. Classic group, classy lady! She will be missed. RIP. Watching these Supremes videos reminds me of my husband's stories about his late older sister, who was very tiny and kind of bossy, even as little child. She used to pretend with her friends to be the Supremes and they would put on "concerts" for anyone who would listen. Since she was the boss, she had to be the star, Diana, of course. No word on the quality of their music, but she knew how to put on a show! I'm sure there were lots of other little Black girls doing the same thing, and trying to imitate the Supremes' glamor and star power back in those days; they remain real icons in African American culture.

Me and my two sisters when hearing a Supremes song on the radio or record, would jump up and "sing" the song and try and move like them. I was around 6 years, the eldest was 8, and baby 4. The 8 year old was Miss Ross, of course and she would boss us, telling us "No! You're not moving your arms right!" Baby would be the first to get fed up and leave the room. Good times we had in our bedroom.
