This includes:
The 2001-2007 Epic/Legacy Remasters.
The 2013 Frontier Remasters.
The question is: do these remasters add something new to the table or are just a flash in a pan?

It was nice to see the back catalogue brought up to date, and they did a pretty decent job. Although more material could have been included and a lacking of lyrics on some of them is a bit frustrating.

I didn't notice any lyrical omissions if you ask me, I will say though that just because they have averted the dreaded loudness war doesn't mean they sound any much better. They're missing that added punchiness in my opinion.

Sorry, I meant some of the later remasters didn't include a lyric sheet. With any CD release,I always like at least a complete copy of the art work which would include the lyric sheets

Yes I did see those. They have the right idea, a miniature version of the LP sleeve and jet label, plus remastered version of the CD with the extra tracks and the CD booklet also. I would like to own those as a diffinative version.

I'm finding this poll a bit tough to vote on because the remasters vary quite a bit. I'm not talking audio quality (I leave that to better-trained ears then mine) but in terms of packaging and content.
The 2001 masters are disappointing for packaging - the fold out sheet, the snippets of comments from Jeff that often say nothing at all. From memory, that's Eldorado, Discovery, Time and Secret Messages.
Extras on the 2001 reissues are a bit variable too. Most of it is pretty good, but Dark City..? Very odd choice IMO. Jeff must have a ton of clips like this knocking about over the years. If we ever get a repackaged Eldorado and Dark City gets cut, I won't be complaining. Same with the On The Run home demo from Discovery really.
But the 2006/2007 remasters are great. Lots of information, plus bonus tracks I go out of my way to play - Telephone Line instrumental and Evil Woman stripped down mix being particular favourites. For extra tracks though, Balance of Power tops the lot.

As it stands.....the unsure predominant party shows a clear picture that maybe Jeff should just leave the classics alone and stop tinkering with the sound! I don't even listen to them on C.D. anymore I am back to vinyl! And as for the rerecorded pro tools stuff from 2012? I listened to that C.D. once. I missed Kelly's vocals too much and "plastic strings" will NEVER float my boat! Now remember it's just my personal opinion!!! And while the great Damie can do pretty much as he likes to said tracks because he is the masters hand........I personally thought re recording these classics all by himself and excluding the other "beards" was a tad RUDE. Again don't go all "Hate" on my ass!!! it's only my opinion!

I can't decide. I have all the CDs and am no expert on audio quality but know that vinyl would blast any of them out of the water any day.
The album reissues could have done with a bit of uniformity - some had better extra tracks, some had booklets, some just folded paper (very disappointed with Time). Not all of them had lyrics even though the vinyl versions did. What stung most was the lyric-less OOTB - I had to buy an even older CD version to get a booklet that included lyrics.
