Sad to see Q magazine is another casualty of Covid-19s impact. Wasn't a regular reader but it had some great writers over the years (Stuart Maconie, John Aizlewood etc) and was often worth a look and was very well produced.

It is a shame to see Q disappear, even though it appeared to be owned by Bauer who you'd think would be able to keep it going if they chose to. Maybe it will be revived in a new guise when life is more back to normal.

too bad it's not the American "Q" that's going away.

A quality magazine that is (was) owned by the owners of some of the crappiest music stations on this planet...

Maybe Bauer are in trouble too especially if their music stations are crap. They own a shedload of other magazines though, including Australian Womens Weekly, so a quality outfit obviously.

Oooh,I hope so! absolute, kiss, magic et al playing the SAME songs EVERY day...'yawn'. Whoever listens to these stations by choice is not a music fan...end of.

I'm shocked. I used to buy Q every month for years in the late 90s / early 2000s. I even used to buy second hand back issues when I saw them in charity shops (those issues even had a classical music section!).
I stopped buying it in about 2002 when the bands they were writing about stopped interesting me (you can only read about The Libertines so much). But I have to say that it was on one of their free CDs that I first heard 'Don't Bring Me Down' and played it incessantly.
It's sad to see it go the same way as the NME and Melody Maker has. I'd probably have bought more magazines if the price wasn't so high. You get a lot less words for your money these days.
