www.gramophone.co.uk/classical-music-news/article/musicians-launch-campaign-to-let-the-music-playCalled #letthemusicplay, the campaign, launched by UK Music, the organisation which represents the country’s commercial music sector, calls on the government to offer: 'A clear conditional timeline for reopening venues without social distancing', and 'an immediate comprehensive business and employment support package', which should include 'a Government-backed insurance scheme to allow shows to go ahead; an extension of the furlough scheme and help for the self-employed and sole traders to prevent mass redundancies; [and] rent breaks for venues to allow them to reopen.' haven't heard of anything like this yet in the USA, but I'm guessing this will catch on I watched another virtual "concert" last night - most of the artists are performing solo from their homes. It makes sense, but it's just not the same as having a full band cranking the amps to 11. what can be done to improve the experience and get some funds flowing to musicians?

I wonder, are they using this song to advance the cause?

Mr Musette and I have booked to see Gary Numan at a drive in concert in Bristol Filton Airport in August. We've always meant to see him and this seems a good way to tick him off the list and help support live music. Plenty of other acts also doing the drive in thing, why not join in? Ticket prices are about the same as for a normal gig but only around 300 cars are allowed in www.livenation.co.uk/utilitalivefromthedrivein
