I'm confused. What have the Wilbury's got to do with ELO's 50th. I'm thinking the same, and as fireonhigh says, he should be celebrating his first two bands more than the Wilbury's....

I'm confused. What have the Wilbury's got to do with ELO's 50th. I'm thinking the same, and as fireonhigh says, he should be celebrating his first two bands more than the Wilbury's.... Thinking about it, the Wilburys would have been more famous than the Idle Race or The Move, and out of the 5 Wilburys his Jeffness would have been the one least well known and indeed least mentioned and there are probably still many casual fans of ELO who wouldn't know Jeff was part of it, so it kind of makes sense to 'advertise' his involvement more. Still a shame he couldn't mention his 1966 to 1971 period as the two Idle Race albums and the Moves Message from the Country are fab albums

I’m not surprised at Jeff mentioning the Wilbuys, he has always talked with pride of “one of me other bands” working with some of his hero’s is something he is extremely proud of, and one of the subjects he freely answers questions on. I did think that Afterglow & Flashback should have been given a viewing on the time line of albums. Two excellent box sets.

Without The Move though......? I’m a big fan of the Move and I know they ran parallel for a year or so, I think 10538 and California man were in the charts at the same time, So maybe he could have shown Message from the country but I always think of Electric Light Orchestra ( no answer) as the ELO beginning

Time has had an RIAA certification of gold since Fall 1981. Maybe if Jeff would release a legacy 2LP version, then do a series of concerts that play Time in its entirety, the album would go platinum in the U.S.

10538 is the 2012 version. The drum sound is the giveaway. In the timeline, they missed Flashback and Afterglow. They certainly are more important than the 2007 Wilburys collection. I would have included the Part 2 albums as well, but we all know that's not gonna happen They are and I would have also included the Part II albums, then Traveling Wilburys aren't even part of Sony (SME/BMG) but Rhino Records a division of Warner Bros. Include the part 2 albums? LOL

Include the part 2 albums? LOL I don't want to turn this into a "Jeff = ELO debate", but this is how I see the timeline post 1986. Beyond The Dream Armchair Theatre Afterglow Electric Light Orchestra Part II Roll Over Beethoven Moment Of Truth Flashback Zoom No Rewind Long Wave Mr Blue Sky Alone In The Universe From Out Of Nowhere You can also throw in the Wilburys, live albums and Tandy Morgan releases if you like.

My 2 cents on the 50th campaign, nothing will be released until Jeff re-records all of the original albums.

Really? Tastes differ, I suppose. Beyond The Dream *** 1/2 ROB *** ELO Part Two **** 1/2 Moment Of Truth *** No Rewind ***** (3) TW Volume One ***** Armchair Theatre ***** (2) TW Vol 3 **** Flashback ***** Zoom ***** Mr Blue Sky **** Long Wave **** 1/2 (***** if the outtakes known from the promo sampler were included) Alone In The Universe ***** (1) From Out Of Nowhere **** 1/2 Afterglow is just a nice boxset, but there are no new tracks and Jeff wasn't that much involved Confusion? :lol I thought it was a ranking! How would you rate these albums then?

***Looks up Beyond The Dream***
Edit: Right!
Maybe Jeff will make a statement with the title of the next album: ELO 16
(ie Xanadu counts as an album.)
