It says " Eldorado, A Symphony by The Electric Light Orchestra", not Jeff Lynne's ELO. It's 49, not 50 years. Several conceptual albums?! Only 2, Eldorado (1974) & Time (1981) All songs from the Eldorado album are among my favorites! http://instagram.com/p/Cxv_hfbL3Gl www.facebook.com/reel/1158063221835135Released 50 years ago today, the Eldorado album was the first of several conceptual albums to be written and released by Jeff Lynne’s ELO. With inspiration from his everyday life, Jeff developed characters and storylines through song to take listeners on a musical journey into his world. What’s your favorite song from the Eldorado album? | Jeff Lynne | Electric Light Orchestra · Can't Get It out of My Head It depends on how you define " conceptual". It doesn't have to be a storyline. Musicwise, most of ELO's albums are conceptual. With regard to conscious lyrical concepts, after the failed attempt with The Lost Planet (the theme is still present on the album), "On The Third Day" can be considered ELO's first, albeit somewhat clumsily implemented, concept album. As with Alan Parsons albums, there is a consistent theme, even for side 2, as Jeff once pointed out: life, death, religion, the idea of something bigger than ourselves. Moreover, the " Secret Messages" double album was approached as a pseudo concept album. In a wider sense, BOP and Alone In The Universe are conceptual albums, too. ( They could have been presented as theme albums easily, but Jeff apparently decided against this)And there is at least a conceptual side for OOTB.

Is there anything new in the world of ELO or JLELO beyond the one off San Diego gig?
I haven't seen anything in the press or on social media, aside from these X or IG releases like for It's Over.

The social media posts seem to have increased, lets hope that’s a sign and something will be announced around the upcoming concert appearance.

Do you think that Jeff is doing this because Joe asked him or because he 'gets' the worthy cause? If its because of the cause, maybe he could do something similar in the UK for out vets and homeless and maybe ask Joe to come here!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I think it would be excellent if such a similar gig could be done for UK veterans!

Well...Let's see another band on the road! I don't think Jeff will repeat 100% his last band, I don't know what's Mike Stevens doing, to know if he will be his main partner, like Mike Mann in 2001...

Take That are doing a big tour in 2024 . I don't know if Mike Stevens is still their MD or if the other band members are committed to TT but if he is/ they are I think it's unlikely that we'll see any JLELO shows next yr. I hope I'm wrong and that they'll be on board when the TT tour is finished .

I personally think the big tours are a thing of the past. If anything,I think they might do a 'residency' at say The O2 for a few nights and maybe at the NEC too.

The residency idea for Jeff is an interesting one. Why not a residency in Las Vegas? That's a 4.5 hour car drive from LA. Plus, the Sphere opened up in Vegas recently, where U2 played a number of nights (I was there a couple weeks ago and talked to people who raved about the U2 show). It has a intergallactic feel to it and would be perfect for JLELO to play OTTB or ANWR in their entirety, and then a greatest hits portion highlighting the concert premiere of Marston Moor and Beatles Forever.

Las Vegas would be a great place to do a residency wouldn't it! and if those 'greatest hits' were to be played then I'd be straight over (you know what they say, what happens in Vegas..... )
