So....um.....what special things are happening then? Releasewise? (It's late March as I type this.)

Look at it this way... 1990: Afterglow 2000: Flashback 2020: ? #ELO50 P.S. The anniversary isn't technically until July, if we consider the recording sessions for 10538 Overture as when ELO first became an active unit.

Wow,was it 30 years since I bought 'Flashback'? Flashback came out in 2000, so no, it wasn't 30 years since you bought it but 20, my English Pythagoras.

I reckon its more likely to be marked in 2021 as that is the 50th anniversary of the first album - good grief its nearly 20 years since the First Light Series. They were still the Move in 1970 (indeed in to 1972) as far as releases and the public were concerned.

But I do believe that in 1990, His Jeffness celebrated "the 20th Anniversary" with Afterglow.
Anyway, I'm surprised that no hints have been given. (Or is it "shits" vice "hints"?)

Yeah, the weird period that was described as follows, in the classic Uncyclopedia text: "Here the chronology grows a little fuzzy, because tracks for the first ELO album were recorded during the same period — and sometimes during the very same studio sessions — as The Mauve albums Lookie Here and Freedom from the Contract, the Roy "Morning" Wood solo album Over the Shoulder Boulder Holder, Bebe's solo album More Songs About Football and Gay Men and, of course, Chinese Democracy."

Is that the one where the band outnumbered the audience?

Is that the one where the band outnumbered the audience? I think it was. It is mind-boggling isn't it, even after all those hits as the Move and probably in the top ten around the same time. Live music cannot have been such a big deal back then. Its a bit like:
"I see Damon Albarn's new band is playing down the pub tomorrow" "Really, who is in the band?" "Basically its Blur under a different name" "Wow, I love Blur" "Are you going then" "Nah."
