Although I’m looking forward to what surprises we may get musically, I can’t wait to see what the gate fold sleeve will look like, or if it’s going to be a colour vinyl. Going by the original cover it would be blue but white would look pretty good as well. Think I’m looking wayyyy too far ahead here. I've already put £5.99 (what it cost me in 1981) to one side for the reissue, do you think that will cover it? OK ok maybe another couple of quid to allow for inflation.... Better to round it up to £6.00, just to be on the safe side.

Time will be restored to its originally intended double album form, but it won't have any bonus tracks, and it won't be arriving in November. Based on the plans I'd been made aware of, the 2LP Time 40th Anniversary Legacy Deluxe Edition will launch in early July, though some outtakes from those sessions will be part of a career-spanning set designed as an upgrade to Flashback, itself a replacement for Afterglow, which should give you an idea of the format we can expect. Both of those were released in November, and Flashback served as a preview of the 2001-7 remaster campaign. Sony and Jeff like November - it's a good month to drop something fans will lap up, while also making whatever surfaces the ideal stocking filler. In addition to all this, the classic run of 1971-86 are to be reissued in vinyl and BSCD2 forms based on the 2015 remasters, which have yet to see physical release, and these will also be made available in a box that is apparently going to contain a bonus disc of previously unheard rarities spanning from the very first ELO recording all the way through to the BOP sessions. Finally, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Jeff has been keeping himself busy lately. Zoom dropped right in the middle of the 30th anniversary celebrations, and repeating that formula seems like a great idea. Again, all of this could change, though I'd rather let everyone know what may be happening than keep them completely in the dark. Just consider that plans do change, especially at the moment. Rob Caiger was very annoyed with how the 35th anniversary edition of Secret Messages turned out - he'd spent years proposing various expanded packages, only for Sony to slip out that relatively disappointing version the second his back was turned. He hasn't said much about this yet, but he really wants to make up for that by ensuring that Time gets a more deserving treatment, which included visiting the owner of those acetates to see what could be added. Jeff has never spoken about anything from this album being an embarrassment on the level of Beatles Forever, so we should get everything. Now, whether that includes the originally intended artwork and anything like new liner notes remains to be seen, though I'm optimistic... Well, now I'm really looking forward to that new 3 CD box set TBA, then the 2 LP Time 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition to be released in July 2021 more than ever because of sentimental reasons, Dad who bought its original audio cassette as my very first ELO album after I'd heard "Hold on Tight" from Casey's Kasem's American Top 40 around August 1981, sadly passed away 4/7/2020 at 82, something other than COVID complications! PS-Afterglow was a release around June 15th, 1990.

So ,no bonus tracks. Are the bouncer and Julie don't live here counted as bonus tracks? Are the "missing" tracks going to be inserted tho? In other words .Is it "The Full Monty"?

Music Legends magazine has a 50th feature on ELO, in this month's issue. Don't know if it's any good though as it was sealed. The cover features a retro on Fleetwood Mac, can't believe Christine Mcvie is 77!

Hopeful releases aside, l just happened to be listening to ' End of the line ' yesterday. Jeff comes out with the line ' the best thing to do is forgive' May be too late for some but not for others? That would be nice Jeffrey?

Oh I have been off this board too long if I’ve missed this exciting news about Time. I hope this opus gets critically reappraised for the masterpiece it is. Not sure I’m that excited about the double album idea because it’s always been perfect as it is. Julie should’ve been on the album maybe but not at the expense of Another heart breaks. What I’d love is to hear a 5.1 version or a Pet Sounds Box Set treatment with instrumental and acapella versions.
One thing I hope is Jeff realises 50 years is special and it’s time to dispense with as much of the Take That band a season possible and at least get some live guest appearances from old members.
No reason not to get back with Roy, Bev, Richard and Mike D for an anniversary recording of 10538.
Jeff should realise time is running out, and it’s not reversible
