ELO's 50th anniversary "campaign" needs a Don Arden - like figure to kick some bu**s and stick to deadlines. As it stands, nothing is set in stone, and in the meantime I am spending my hard earned American dollars on other legacy acts. Acts that look after their fans..... I know some fans will argue that Jeff owes the fans nothing. I understand that position.

That's one thing that I don't get, without the fans that bought the records, watched his concerts, bought the memorabilia etc. Jeff would still be gigging in and around Birmingham

That's one thing that I don't get, without the fans that bought the records, watched his concerts, bought the memorabilia etc. Jeff would still be gigging in and around Birmingham I think it has been stated by others on this board, the fact that Jeff is not as media accessible as he was before the Zoom "problem." Even during the original ELO, he preferred to stay in the studio and have Bev do the PR and public facing work. Certainly the last few years of ELO he wasn't that accessible. I am sure that on some level Jeff knows that it was the fans who made him rich, but he certainly isn't as fan friendly as some other legacy stars of his generation.

I really don't give a fat rats ass. I'm not going to lay out funds for any 50th extravaganzas, anyway. I don't expect he's overly concerned about this and I don't expect him to be. I "gave at the office" during his 2018/19 tours. Collecting originals is what I'm most interested in. I just hope Jeff is doing fine.

Are you telling us that you won't buy the 15th ELO / Jeff Lynne's ELO greatest hits package?

.... but then again it is Twilight, the only song from the album that Jeff bothers with. Where was the tweet for Hold On Tight, the bands 3rd biggest hit?

This has long since passed the point of being exhausting!
If the only way Jeff's team can acknowledge Time is by yet again pushing Wembley 2017 on us via increasingly sterile and detached forms of online engagement, then it's clear I'm no longer his target audience.
"Bye-bye, my old friend..."

"Bye-bye, my old friend..."Like I said on another post, he risks alienating the real, true die hard fans who have invested time and money into his career just to cater for the fly by nights....

I understand where you are coming from but it was the official ELO channels that made a big deal of the 50th. I am not too bothered about 50th anniversary merch but hoped it would be an ideal opportunity to sort out the back catalogue and at least get everything available on quality vinyl or some other quality re-issues. I have some originals but after 40 to 50 years most records are damaged in some way and have tatty sleeves. Agreed that we all hope Jeff is doing fine (whatever he is doing).

Not sure if that's how to do it but it seems Tome isn't completely hated NO! it's not the 40th anniversary of Jeff Lynne's ELO version of Twilight, if it was then you would have the original version....
