I think it's rude but to each his own I guess. Maybe, but it's all done in a humorous way.

I'm all for a bit of banter on both sides, so long as it's good natured.
Slightly less convinced that a 2LP Time reissue would actually be worth having.

I'm starting to think that we should have a topic called "What year had the LEAST ELO activity?" Was it 2020? Are we on track to beat that record in 2021? Come on Jeff - where is the news?

In all seriousness with Jeff's age and the covid nightmare, I hope he is healthy.

Did someone not say there could be an announcement in October. While there are occasionally exceptions to this rule, the window for registering anything that would be released in the final quarter of this year passed a few weeks ago, so it's likely we're not getting anything until at least early 2022. On the other hand, I see that the hardback edition of Wembley Or Bust has been pushed back to November 2nd, which is right in the sweet spot Jeff and Sony have used quite a few times before to ensure the latest ELO products reach as wide a range of fans as possible, from the more established to casual buyers looking for a potential stocking filler. Saying that, what's clearly rubbing a few people the wrong way is how Jeff's social media team continues to issue posts celebrating odd and frankly inconsequential anniversaries, yet has managed to somehow completely ignore the existence of Time. After being upstaged with their official attempts at restoring Secret Messages to its "originally intended" running order, they've been made aware that the same could very well happen again, the ongoing radio silence an opportunity for similar to be put together completely unchallenged. I'm not asking for some great explanation, yet at this point, it's also clear there is some underlying reason why Jeff flat out refuses to acknowledge an album that was arguably one of the last real success stories for a version of ELO many refuse to look past, despite his best efforts to try and pass off any renewed activity since 2013 as worthy of functioning under the same name. Then again, as he is in his right to do, anything else would mean putting the spotlight back on certain figures who've long since been pushed to the opposing side of a line in his historical narrative. No matter how much any one person tries moving the goalposts, a precedent was set for when and how specific milestones should be celebrated. Fundamentally, the 50th anniversary campaign has so far fallen very short of what was offered around the Zoom-era or even with the earlier Afterglow retrospective, not counting those recent Japanese reissues that weren't promoted beyond this market, though you could make a case that the stakes are greater now. Jeff is highly unlikely to be putting in a similar amount of effort beyond this, so it really is an all or nothing scenario. Of course, perhaps the biggest difference between the past and now is that Jeff's entire online presence is being increasingly handled by cogs in an anonymous corporate machine that offer little except a cold, detached form of engagement. Meanwhile, the likes of Rob Caiger and Lynn Hoskins are being unceremoniously thrown under the bus after years of loyal service, again without any reason being given. Not to cast judgement, but it seems as if Jeff is the kind of person who is content to bask in the spotlight at the cost those who'd kept the lights on for him through darker times.
