Sad news RIP Kenny, I always had a soft spot of islands in the stream.

I'd completely forgotten he sang on this one. Who says Kenny wasn't hardcore and cool?

I looked up Kenny's his history and found that Glen Campbell played the backward guitar intro on that song.
He mentions my hometown Toledo in his song "Lucille".
RIP Kenny.

A country music legend, his work will still be listened in the decades to come. You beat me to it, Horacewimp, I was planning on posting "Islands in the stream"; but this is another good classic (while still avoiding THE obvious classic):

Saw Kenny with my elderly dad a few years back at a casino in the Vancouver area. You could tell he was struggling physically and he apologized for it. Despite this he played all the songs the fans came to hear. True pro, didn’t want to let anyone down. Thanks Kenny, RIP.

This is such sad news, Kenny well deserved his iconic status and I'm sure the country music community will salute him as he passes on. From what I've been hearing his talent was matched by his general niceness and good humour. Rest in Peace.

My mom played a lot of Kenny's music around the house, when I was a kid. I always liked his soulful side, like this song, which features Gladys Knight and the Pips on backing vocals.
