This is going too be a a bit of a strange one. Collins is totally crocked, physically, needs a walking stick and has performed the whole of his solo tour sitting down! His son is going to fill in on drums but I wonder if, at aged just 18, he is up to the job on some Genesis songs and instrumentals?

They've always been a 'meh' type band to me,some good songs and albums but also some duffers too. Personally I was a late 70s early 80s fan, the Peter Gabriel era was too bizarre at times even though Steve Hackett was a fine guitarist. I would imagine Phil's son has been brought up listening to his dad's music and also learning it too so I guess that is not too much of a problem. Overall I'm glad they are back and look forward to seeing the TV promotions....

Well I'm really thrilled about this! I've been a Genesis fan for as long as I've been an ELO fan (45 years) and although I much prefer their 70's output I had no hesitation in securing some tickets for their Birmingham show this morning.
The year is 2020 and as long as that 'nasty little virus' doesn't get in the way, my line-up of shows this year reads: Queen, Yes, Roger Hodgson (of Supertramp), ELO x 2, 10cc, Steve Hackett, Elton John and now Genesis. It's as if the music world came to a juddering halt in 1980 and you know what? It probably did!

On dear! If I were Genesis I would seriously reconsider this tour. As hard as it might be, sometimes it's better to simply accept the inevitability of time and age catching up with you and leave fans with the memories of better times.

They've rescheduled the UK dates to April.

If Phil is in good voice then go for it, OK so he can't drum anymore but his son will do a good job just as Jason Bonham did for Led Zep. Christine Mcvie has just turned 77 so if you are in good shape generally then I can see no problems. They are not doing it for the money as all 3 are minted....
