How the hell do I top that? ^^
Phil Elverum aka Mount Eerie, wrote this song after his wife passed away from cancer, shortly after giving birth to the couple's first child.

A song that really hit me as a fan was “Take Another Look” by the Cars from the album “Move Like This”. The song was a definite nod to the late Ben Orr with the lyric ‘...the best of friends must pass...’ And of course recently Ric Ocasek has passed as well making the song additionally poignant.

I can't top the power of James Blunt's brilliant song. My humble contribution is this sweet song from legendary Irish folk singer Luke Kelly...
Scorn Not His Simplicity - written by Phil Coulter about his son.
