Do any UK forumheads remember the late night music show Revolver?
It ran in 1978, and featured live bands mostly playing New Wave/punk rock music, although they did have other acts - Kate Bush was one. The show was set in a seedy ballroom-turned-gig venue. Peter Cook, the satirist, played the grumpy manager who hated the music, the bands, and the audience, and made disparaging remarks about them throughout each show.
The guy flipping the hamburgers at 1:31 is Birmingham DJ Les Ross, who went on to become a bit of a legend on local radio - Horace, were you one of his listeners? I should have asked you this when I visited Brum, but completely forgot!
Les is still around and still on the air - these days he presents a Saturday morning show on 101.8 WCR FM radio - the same station as our own Bev Bevan.

I remember it well, I think it only ran for one series though. Apart from the punk/new wave acts,I remember Bonnie Tyler and Suzi Quattro. As far as I know it's never been repeated but various clips are on YouTube.

If he wasn't, that could make things a bit awkward, bumping into Bev at his current station...

I remember it, mostly because of Peter Cook being in it which was an interesting twist on the music show format. The new version of Top of the Pops under a different name which they tried bringing back on BBC1 was dire, but that might be because the music itself didn't appeal to me. Apart from Jools Holland the plot seems to have been lost when it comes to putting on a good music show these days
