I really enjoy the first two Maiden albums, Iron Maiden and Killers. The albums had Paul Di'anno on vocals, before Bruce Dickinson took over the mic. Heavy, yet melodic, you could feel the rawness and hunger of the band at that stage of their career. If you are only used to the Bruce era, Di'anno was certainly not operatic, more of a street vibe. Some of the songs that appear on Maiden best of collections, (and get played live sometimes) are Running Free, Iron Maiden, Phantom of the Opera, Wrathchild and Killers. If you are into any metal I don't think you can go wrong with these two discs... The legend/launching pad to greatness started here similar to the first two Def Lep albums (which also totally rock - On Through The Night and High n Dry) that the general listening audience may tend to overlook before the mega success arrived.

Horacewimp: We are all good thanks, just wishing I could go on a foreign holiday, it’s just not worth the risk with Covid and the possibility of a 14 day quarantine, we may do some short breaks in the U.K.
