OK, I'll use the randomness thread for a random post: the long due photos of my first and only nephew Edward (who is 3 months old by now) for BSJ and a few others who asked for them. He's just been baptized, so here's hoping he will behave like a good boy once he gains motricity and starts to move by his own means. Uh, and he's a future ELO fan, you can count on that.

Love the sound of blocks of wood hitting each other. The sound of a train tooting deep in the night. The sound of chalk used on the blackboard (not that gritting teeth sound!). Walking through leaves. Turn of a page in a book or newspaper. The sound of my car door closing (solid sound). The thud made when something heavy hits the ground. Love the sound of a big firework morter ("ferdumph") makes as it is ignites. Then silence ........... then all hell breaks loose!

Edward! What a kid. How will he ever grow into his killer eyes? I can’t stand it! The last photo makes me laugh every time I look at it. Charmer. Thanks, Helmut.

What a beautiful boy, he looks really interested in everything (even when he's asleep he's probably dreaming about something fascinating). And he's trying to stand too by the look of it, soon be time to move all the ornaments out of reach. I think he's made BSJ slightly broody, tk6 had better watch out. Who could resist those dimples and that broad grin? As she says, he's a proper charmer - thanks for introducing us all to him

Great pictures Helmut, a little Maradona in the making with those legs Yeah, he better don't get angry and kick me with those legs or I'll be in trouble. Thanks Uno, he has reached a point in his growth where he gets interested in things he sees around him. Nothing seems to call his attention more than my sister's little dog though. He even finds it very amusing when the dog barks, and if it keeps on barking for a while he'll crack up and be delighted.

You can blame Helmut83 for this. He requested a viewing of the one and only cactus named Wilf Gibson. Now, as I've been at pains to point out, I'm not entirely sure this is him. Proper Wilf was just a spriglet when I first adopted him and wrote his name on his tiny earthenware pot. Then, a few years later, my grandmother wanted a plant and for some reason Wilf fitted the bill. When she sadly passed on, years ago now, a cactus from her old lady flat was my inheritance. I think it's Wilf. He certainly is very old, and every Christmas he is bedecked with pink flowers, nudge me again in December and I'll send another pic. In the meantime, I'm pleased to introduce you...

This is great! What a moment! Finally, there he is: Wilf Gibson... the cactus, the myth, the legend... Look, vlogdance and Buttler, we are finally meeting our inspirational muse! And what a beast he is! He is massive, didn't disappoint an inch regarding his greatness. What kind of cactus is him? He must be quite of a rare species, isn't him? He doesn't seem to be the typical full-of-spines cactus. Or did you cut them off? Thanks, Uno! I think the funniest part of the story is that 10% of doubt about it not being him, like a Mexican novel in which an impostor replaces a certain member of a family and his relatives don't realize. It even adds more spiciness to the story. Looking forwards to the "pink flowers everywhere falling from his hair" photos in December.

Wilf's sensational! I feel a song coming on... "Hey, Wilfred, how are you? You always look so cool, you never need a shower..."

I think it is what my Mum used to call a Christmas Cactus because that's when it flowered.
