Random sounds. I LOVE. Old delph (plates/chinaware dishes) being set on top of each other. Mousse or fresh cream being whipped in a plastic bowl with a whisk. The sound of a new handsaw working through fresh timber. Logs crackling in an open fire. I HATE. Chip/crisp bag being assaulted by an a*****e in the movies/cinema. Frying pan frying. someone clearing their nose constantly (snotting backwards). Someone eating with their mouth open. And finally. ...U2. Their dulcet crap tones make me want to scream!!!! Mmm. I remember the sound of these really large rollbooks they used to sign us into school when I was a kid. Loved that sound! I can still hear it in my head 30 years later! Gun fire in the distance that low thud like you said....I can also hear the ruler "slapping" young skin! I hate that sound and the sobbing from the back of the room! HEY TEACHER LEAVE THOSE KIDS ALONE!
