Have we talked about The Dukes Of Stratosphear yet? (Don't worry, they're not the thieving dukes.)
The Dukes were the British rock group XTC, performing under another name to record psychedelic-type music. Singer-songwriter Andy Partridge described the Dukes as an amalgamation of "your favourite bands from 1967". The project was partly based on his teenage fantasy of being in a psychedelic group.
This song, Collideascope, was intended to sound like John Lennon as lead singer of The Move. See what you think.

I love the Dukes a little bit more than XTC because they sound how XTC kept trying to sound. This was one of the first Dukes songs I heard, it's both slightly Beatles and slightly 10538 Overture -
