Helmut83 I don't mind your free-flying opinions! No need to preface your opinions with "in my opinion", "I find it", "I think it is"... You are right, I probably shouldn't -most times at least- because under certain contexts it is understood that what you are saying is your own opinion, but just in case I prefer to do it all the same.

Time ago a friend of mine lent me "Full Moon Fever" and "Wildflowers". As I recall, I quite liked FMF and had a sovereign bore listening to "Wildflowers", to the point that I only liked the song that gave title to the album and one or two more at best. I returned "Wildflowers" to my friend after just a few listens (and kept FMF). Now honestly I'm surprised to see it's so highly acclaimed. Maybe I should try to get it again and give it another listen to see if there's something I haven't gotten during those first listens and consequently have been missing. I don't know if I should be ashamed or not but I also own Hard Promises and have only heard it perhaps twice and both times had a sovereign bore. It isn't TP's fault and perhaps it's because HP hasn't got any of the big songs I like on it or perhaps it because it wasn't FMF or perhaps it was the wrong time to hear it - some albums only work if you are in the right frame of mind, the right age or in the right context. Well said. That's why maybe I should give "Wildflowers" another listen. To add my example of a highly acclaimed album I never quite got, the first one that comes to my mind is Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds". It's often ranked among the very best albums of all times and I can't see why because I really don't like it at all.

Maybe in situations like this we should say "I like the songs but I don't like the album". Some songs are fantastic but sound too trapped on an album.
