BEST OPENING ACT EVER!! I’m so excited, I hope he will do a song with Jeff! That would be epic! It’s a long story, but I’ve been using what I call “The Daily Jeff” as a countdown of the days until the concert... every day I text something like a picture or funny YouTube comment about Jeff Lynne/ELO to a few friends. Today’s was the video of Jeff’s cover of The Beatles’ “Something”, which he did with Dhani... and then I find out that Dhani will be the support act, what a coincidence! I couldn’t have planned it better if I’d tried!

This is terrific news!
Dhani must be Jeff's most relevant support act yet. I hope he'll support Jeff when he tours again in the UK.

It seems odd that this Pollstar article only mentions two of the venues on Dhani's sold-out ten-date 2017 tour, and two of the smallest ones at that. I saw him in November, 2017 at the El Rey in Los Angeles, with a standing capacity of about 1200. Olivia Harrison and Jeff were there, in the balcony. The implication I got from this article, and I've seen it from know-nothings on Facebook too, is that Jeff has taken talentless Beatle son Dhani under his wing and is giving him a big stage. IMO, Dhani has the most musical talent of all the Beatle offspring, with the possible exception of Zak Starkey. I can't judge drummers. I expect Dhani to prove the haters wrong and knock it out of the park, especially if he uses Jeff's live sound team.
