Agreed. And by the way, you included an empty dialog box in your last post. Time to get covered in "sweat panic" and edit...

Ahem, back on topic
Here's an interview with Neil Hannon, who is in The Duckworth Lewis Method with Thomas Walsh.
At around 3.45 he grumbles about missing out on the historic meeting:

Thomas Walsh just posted this on Facebook yesterday, and I find it both exciting and confusing. What infamous MOVE moment?? "myself and the band are overwhelmingly proud to announce that Jeff will appear on the opening track of our new album 'Play This Intimately (As if among friends)' BUT.....not quite in the way you might think. Jeff introduces a wonderful Tosh Flood solo in the style of an infamous moment from Jeff's MOVE days. We hope it's just the tiny beginning of future Pug/Jeff moments but for now JEFF IS ON THERE..!!" If anybody is interested, you can pre-order the new Pugwash album here. They're one of the finest contemporary bands, IMO. www.pledgemusic.com/projects/pugwash

Thanks for sharing, but I already knew about this I ordered my signed copy a long time ago (Guess the very day the pledge campaign started lol). I'm a bit disappointed because they have postponed (3 months ) the release date. There are three demos ("Updates" section) and they are stunning, especially "The fool I had become" and "Hung myself out to dry". I bought "Almanac" and "Almond Tea" directly from Thomas, and my wife gave me "The Olympus Sound" and "A Rose in a Garden of Weeds" (Best of) as Christmas presents I really can't wait to listen to the new album, I spent a whole year listening to their music, and I wrote a few articles about them in my blog too. So they are my fav band atm, absolutely PS. Someone told me what will be the title of the new album smiley-music025

I'm a bit disappointed because they have postponed (3 months ) the release date. Well the Jeff Lynne colab was only announced a couple days ago. As for the postponement, poor Thomas Walsh had a huge fall and shattered his wrist in several places :/ I can understand why they delayed release until August (July, for us pledgers). I also ordered a signed copy back in December, and I am very excited to hear the final product!

Many people on Showdown are fans of Thomas Walsh and his band Pugwash. I'm excited to let you know that the band is set to release their first studio album in four years, titled "Play This Intimately (As if among friends)" and it features some very special guests: Ray Davies, Andy Partridge, and, on the opening track, Jeff Lynne. BUT, Thomas tells me, not quite in the way you might think. Jeff introduces a Tosh Flood solo in the style of an infamous moment from a famous Move track.
The album will be released on international label Omnivore Recordings in early August, and Pugwash has teamed up with PledgeMusic to be able to offer fans the chance to pre-order, take advantage of some exclusive offers, and be involved in the process.

Of course I asked Thomas for the story behind Jeff's guest appearance...
"I truly cannot express what it's like to get a call from Jeff Lynne asking 'Would I like to pop over for a cuppa tea?' I live in Dublin, Ireland but because things have been going really well for Pugwash in the U.S. I've been to L.A. twice in the past 6 months. So I've been to Jeff's..... TWICE..!! The second time around (Oooooh song reference) I decided to ask Jeff on the spot, over tea, to sing something on our new album. He just said 'Yeah I'd love to..' My heart just exploded. But unfortunately due to time constraints on my end it couldn't happen this time but a compromise was reached. You shall hear the resultant compromise on track one of our new album out in August. Oh and by the way..Jeff is the nicest guy I've ever met!!"
Really looking forward to this one, Thomas!
Lynn

I knew Thomas Walsh was a fan of Jeff, but I'm surprised to see he is as much a fan as any of us and he doesn't even try to hide it.

"The Fool I Had Become" and "Hung Myself Out To Dry" demos are AWESOME, they played live a couple of new songs, too ("Silly Love" and "Kicking and Screaming"). I really can't wait to listen to the new album

" So, never fear, and THANK YOU for your help and patience. It’s all about making this the best record ever. And, I, personally, think it is…
Seriously, it’s a masterpiece." Lee Lodyga (Omnivore Recordings)

Las friday we had a wonderful chat with the lads (Pugwash official forum). Someone asked Thomas about his meeting with Jeff. Unfortunately I can't remember every single word, but Thomas said he started to sing a song (Don't remember which one), and right after Jeff started to play another song (Don't remember which one) with his ukulele
