I have a nomination form for British citizens that I started filling out. I realized three things: 1) I don't know Jeff's citizenship status 2) I don't know if Jeff wants to be honored 3) I would need to solicit two letters of recommendations from noted members of Jeff's field to write letters detailing why Jeff deserves the honor. The endorsements would ideally come from British citizens who hold honors. While Sir Paul McCartney and Billy Conolly, KBE may be willing to write such letters, any requests I mailed to them would be thrown away. What suggestions do the rest of you have? I'll be happy to post what I have completed so far.

I understand the concept of recognition by the country for extraordinary service in a particular field. In my opinion the awards recently from the music industry would have more value.
I would seriously question why anyone would want him to be associated to such an outdated concept .... Anything with 'THE BRITISH EMPIRE' in it is a source of shame not something to be celebrated.

I didn't realise he would need endorsements from fellow showbiz people with honours - maybe he really isn't interested otherwise the likes of Paul McCartney might already have put him forward.

Maybe he has been forwarded? but like David Bowie for instance and others before him, perhaps he has turned the invitation down? That's what I'm thinking. And that's why I stopped filling out the form. I couldn't contact him and ask him, "Hey, Jeff, do you want me to nominate you for a knighthood?" The phone number I have is no doubt outdated. I haven't called it to find out.
If I sent a letter to Jeff's home address, it would surely be returned unopened. Oh, come on, we all have his home address. Craig Fruin's new address was harder to find.
For the record, since Craig formed CSM Management, it's Marathon Village, 1200 Clinton St #241, Nashville, TN 37203. I have the LA address somewhere, no only the phone number. I wonder if Craig would give me a straight answer about whether Jeff wanted honors or not? I know he wouldn't tell me if he'd already been nominated. I doubt I'd have any more luck reaching Craig than reaching Jeff.

The form doesn't say the endorsers have to be British or past honorees, only accomplished members of his field. I'm just saying it would boost the strength of the endorsement.

What the heck. Give it a try.

What the heck. Give it a try. Maybe Craig will tell me about Jeff's charity work. I know about Nordoff-Robbins and MusiCares. I expect Jeff to receive the MusiCares award this year, fulfilling a wish of Tom Petty's.
I've heard Jeff associated with St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, but nothing specific. The Concert for George would be considered charity work for the Material World Foundation.
Some hard research would turn up any non-profit boards he serves on.
He must have done more than that.

Agreed, but if Paul McCartney thought Jeff was up for it, who better to put him forward?

I think Wolfie has been spending the last year writing to everyone 'in the know' regarding Michael Palins Knighthood...
