The melodica is another wacky instrument that I bet Jeff could pull off well. It sounds a bit like a harmonica, too. This would be a riot to see him play. Bring out his goofy side.

Of course, makes sense. Folk is his background. He was just more famous than others playing it this way. Yeah, that's how it works at times. He's a symbol of the harmonica around the world, yet you will find that most harmonica players are way better than him, at least when it comes to technique.

Jeff could add a bit of a theremin on some songs it works for John Otway.

Was a theremin used on "A New World Record?" I could have sworn I heard one in a few songs on there. Either way, it's definitely a very ELO-sounding instrument!

BIuebird, I'm not familiar with the melodica. But is that the instrument that Jon Batiste plays on the Steven Colbert show?

orioles70 I had to look him up because we don't have cable, but yes, it looks like he does play the melodica. You've probably heard this song by the Philly group "The Hooters." I believe they actually got their name from an incorrect term for a melodica, and they use the instrument in a number of their songs. Anyway, near the beginning of the video, you can see two men, one playing the melodica, and the other playing a mandolin.
