Here's Chas, singing and playing with our own Bev and Roy, on late-night music and comedy show OTT in 1983.

Such sad news especially as he had overcome a particularly horrible type of cancer. Seems he had a peaceful ending in his sleep though, and he really had a full and eventful life in the music biz.
RIP, Chas

It's so sad to lose Chas. I remember seeing this video on YouTube a few years ago and believed it to be evidence of a parallel universe containing an alternative version of ELO - with Roy, Bev, Jeff-beard-alike Chas and Phil Lynott (who everyone would pick to be in their dream band line-up surely!)
I saw Chas attending a Procol Harum concert in 2014, he looked easy going and very smart when out-on-the-town.
Chas and Dave's Xmas Knees - Up is worth a watch, it's bound to be on this Christmas. Probably on Channel 5.

I remember watching the OTT show at the time it went out (knowing that Bev and Roy were on) although not knowing what they would be singing, two of the songs were ROB and Johnny Be Good which are part of ELO folklore. Chas has been mentioned on this forum before in the Jeff Lynne looky likey thread!

Chas Hodges' memorial show took place at the London Shepherd's Bush Empire on Monday (17th December).
Performers included Eric Clapton, Gary Brooker, Joe Brown, Albert Lee, Ralph McTell, Paul Whitehouse and many others.
Eric, Gary, Joe and Albert also played at George Harrison's tribute show and I can imagine that, had he been here, George would have played for Chas as well. It looks like it was a fun show and Chas would have enjoyed it -
