there's a new theory that says the song that was #1 on the charts on your 14th birthday "defines your life" if you use this link, you can type in your birthday and see what was #1 on your day - in the USA if you grew up in the UK or elsewhere, you'll have to figure out the #1 song another way
for me, the song that was #1 was Chicago, "If you leave me now" which I remember well, but ... when I turned 14 is when New World Record was released and Livin' Thing was released 5 days after my 14th birthday - and it's my all time favorite song perhaps there's something to this "age 14" theory

Unfortunately, like many newspapers online, the Post has a paywall. Being on the other side of the 'pond', I'm sure that I can find out what was No. 1 (note, no hash symbol over here ) both in Ireland and in the UK.
Mine was The Bee Gees' "Love You Inside and Out," #1 in the US when I turned 14. I love the Bee Gees, but I've never liked that song very much. I had forgotten it, actually. Their earlier stuff, including the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, was much better IMO.
In spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. --MLK, Jr.
Heh! Aunty Joyce wasn't a fan, she asked me what I wanted and I placed the order. She and my mum were madly into John Hanson, who nobody has ever heard of these days, he used to sing in musicals like The Student Prince and The Desert Song. Yep, nobody has heard of them either, but I knew them off by heart as she never stopped playing them.
Sigh, I used to dream of hair like that, instead I had a frizzy perm which was kind of orange due to enthusiastic application of henna. Gorgeous, I was....
It's all good entertainment, it doesn't cost a penny

Horacewimp: We are all good thanks, just wishing I could go on a foreign holiday, it’s just not worth the risk with Covid and the possibility of a 14 day quarantine, we may do some short breaks in the U.K.
