Maybe it's time for Jeff to hold out an olive branch and invite Bev and Mik with Mel and Hugh if they are still available and assuming Richard will be there anyway, then it can really be billed as Jeff Lynne and ELO, and it can be done in memory of Kelly. Well, if you really dream, Jeff also calls Michael de Albuquerque and asks if he has the time to play some bass... My guess is that we are going to see at least three ELO members of the classic lineup - Jeff, Richard and... at least a third guy. I think the smart money is on Mik.

I think bigwheels got it right earlier in this thread. The third guy is going to be WOODY - for a song or two!

Let's not forget that during his recent appearance on The One Show, Jasper repeatedly pointed out how current touring partner Bev was a member of ELO for years - could this be a way of raising his friend's profile in preparation for a possible reunion with Jeff and Richard in September? If that is the case, it would be great if Roy also joined in, though I can appreciate why this might be unlikely, especially considering what happened when Bev decided to hit the road with Trevor Burton as The Move a while back... On the other hand, wouldn't it be great to see the last proper line-up of that group (and therefore also the core founders of ELO, plus Richard) together one last time, even if it was just for a song or two at the end of a show? California Man or Do Ya would make for a truly historic encore!

If there were an orchestra like before,Lois Clark would be a great addition.

There was a BBC concert special yesterday from Edinburgh Castle which featured many acts, it was for the commonwealth games. I noticed that the house band was made up of many of the members who played with Jeff at Children in Need.
I expect to see many of these musicians used at the Hyde Park concert.

Less than a month to go and we have not had any further information leak out on band members, songs or warm up concerts.
We need some rumours to keep us amused.

Because it's such a mainstream audience I have a feeling there'll be very little on offer for hardcore fans. Although most Radio 2 listeners would recognise Woody they might not know of the Move connection, but if there's to be any special guest I'd vote for him and a cover of California Man. Those listeners would probably know Mik more than Bev, especially if they let him loose with Clog Dance. Poor old Bev was usually obscured behind his massive.... kit

I wonder if Jeff might do the iTunes Festival, there are still two acts to be announced in September. www.itunesfestival.com

At least he's doing something. I don't expect a "reunion" as it hasn't been implied as such.

I would hope that if Jeff is to do more shows that they would be his own shows. I'm not a lover of festivals and the norm is to do less than a full set at these type of events ...although maybe that's the way Jeff would like it. There's some talk on the Showdown list about only 5 or 6 songs ...does anyone know what the norm for the headline act at Hyde Park would be?

I have to agree with you sundown festivals aren't great, the sets are shorter and you get a mixture of fans who have come to see other acts. I think Smokey Robinson was the headliner last year, if so a quick google says he did 11 songs and played for nearly one hour. Are you going to Hyde Park sundown ?

I hope to be there, I have purchased two tickets above face value but till they are in my hand I'm not counting chickens. I just noticed too that the tickets are starting to be sent out so if anyone receives theirs it would be of help if they posted a photo.

That would be cool. Something concrete to moon over for us who can't be there. Please brag!
