How can THIS have passed me by...
Probably because I've never seen Electric Dreams smileys-whistling-823718
I was looking up another band on YouTube, and this was listed as one of the options. Intrigued, I listened... listened again... and listened again...
It's a bit good!

What I've never understood about the movie: why is a 9/9.5 like her interested in a 6 or 7 like him? In REAL life that short of mis-match normally requires huge applications of money, or drugs, or violence.
Dismal little bugger, ain't I!
Loved the guest appearance by Al Catraz though.......

My wife and I went to see the film when it came out. I didn't know Jeff had done songs for the soundtrack and when they played this one I said that sounds like Jeff. My wife thought I was nuts, said I was obsessed with ELO. She was right about the obsessed part and after 34 years, nothing has changed.

So, because I played this I also checked out 'Video' which is another fun track by Jeff from said crappy movie. At 1.25 into the vid did I spot a certain ivory twinkle fingers hiding behind a pair of binoculars?

Difficult to say - so grainy and low res.
Problem with the 80's - what with the shoulder pads, frizzed long hair and loud shirts - everyone looks the same!

In the early days - before the 'sony beta' vs 'everyone else vhs' battle, there were quite a few types of video recorders with different types of cartridges/cassettes that were developed. I got to see them in the late 70's and early 80's 'cause the local pharmacist (who was filthy with money) loved to buy new 'toys' - which were always failing; he would then dump them on my older brother, who had the dubious task of trying to sort out (what was then) newfangled engineering. Early VTRs were the size of a suitcase and weighed enough to make your %^&*@ poke out.
