Yeah, I just played the Toto song a couple times. It's like, the verse has a lot of promise, then it kind of runs out of gas at the chorus.

It's like, it might grow on me, but it doesn't have the hooks in the chorus like "99" or "Africa" does.

It feels like it made a nice try; but misses the mark a little bit. It's like the chorus is too "ordinary white guy" bland, is the only way I know how to put it. I think they should have been more patient to wait for a better chorus to come about, perhaps.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. It's disgusting, and from a musical point of view it's as cheap as they come.

The fact that that song went to be a world-wide hit is the ultimate proof that these days the ones who make it are not the talented artists but the ones whom the musical industry pulls down our throats.
