Simon Evans, hilarious comedian, just retweeted this pic with the title "ELO, 1978" I know it's not from 1978, but must confess to not knowing who that guy is on the far right next to Bev.

The pic isn't showing up on this end at the moment.
... is it Jasper Carrott?

I have to admit I'm not up to date on how some of the early guys in the live lineup looked like. Sometimes it's just a blur of faces and long hair... One line up was with - not counting the obvious ones - Wilf Gibson, Bill Hunt and Steve Woolam. I can't for my life recall how any one of them look.

No, well, I'm not up on early lineups either, having come in with ANWR, but top left corner should be Bill Hunt and Wilf Gibson I think. With Roy Wood there, seems like it should be mid-1972 with either Steve Woolam or Andy Craig as far as I can work out. But I don't know what either look like and can't track down individual images. Presumably the same session here but both in shot: oliffcollection.homestead.com/ELO.htmland here: ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61Wf75q5PuL._SY470_.jpg

I agree with Platypus about Bill Hunt and Wilf Gibson, quite pleased there hasn't been an avalanche of people going "Durrr! It's (Mr X) of course! Leave this forum for being so ignorant!" Love that second pic you posted too, looks like they've just heard a really smutty joke or something. Plus there's another mystery person in it, the guy with the specs. Wonder if Jeff got the idea from him?

I expect a Person Who Knows will come along soon... The specs guy is also top left in the first link - the nine-member lineup listing I found includes Steve, Andy and Hugh McDowell who isn't there. And that matches the wikipedia timeline, so I'm guessing the guy who looks a bit like Keith Green should be either Steve or Andy.

I believe the guy next to Bev is a chap called Trevor Smith who was a sound engineer. I'm not sure if he was really a "real" cellist but he's here on cello in this photo, top left -
And according to Bev's book Roy took a cellist called Trevor Smith with him when he left. In the booklet to the reissue CD of ELO's first album there's a mention to a Trevor Smith too (in a little picture of their press release).
I've got my money on that being Andy Craig on the left above Bill Hunt and Jeff and the chap with specs being Steve Woolam.

It sounds like the same Trevor Smith with Roxy. Cello and sound engineer have got to be an odd mix.
