This is awful news, Motorhead were the second band I saw live when I was about 14 and I saw them millions of times during their career. Always had a special soft spot for Eddie, I used to have long stringy orange hair at that time too due to experimenting with henna, plus he once invited me backstage afer a gig

(I declined, of course, well I had to as my boyfriend was with me)

Eddie probably had a more interesting and fun life than most and it's good to hear he seemed in good shape not so long ago so he didn't suffer a long illness. But it's really sad to see him go, Rock in Peace Eddie.

It's all good entertainment, it doesn't cost a penny

Strangely, just saw them on a repeat of Top the Pops from 1981 doing their top five hit,Please Don't Touch, with the all female rock band Girlschool. And their lead singer and guitarist, Kelly Johnson, died of cancer in 2007, aged just 49.
