So I was in Copenhagen yesterday. Flight from Helsinki sunday p.m. and today back a.m.. I just loved the show. Pretty much the same setlist than usual, even in the same order. In a way it vas quite nice though: you knew what to excpect next. I think the songs, at least all of them, were not played exactly the same way than on records. It was fun try to spot the differences. And, somehow it is kind of nice to know and wait for the next song, specially when you know them from start to end by heart! Jeff was himself: lovely same old, same old, modest Jeff. The Mike Stevens' band is great, IMHO. Full of excellent musicians. Lots of terrific guitar solos from both Jeff and Milton McDonald. Not to mention great ladies Rosie Langley on violin and Melanie Lewis-McDonald on vocals. And the light show! Anybody knows tho whom to credit? All in all: definitely worth to see It annoys me slightly when reviews say that the live performances are exactly like the records. They're faithful to the original but with quite a few, often subtle, changes - tracks like ROB have different guitar solos from every tour but unless you're listening carefully you won't notice.
Lighting design is Tim Routledge - check him out on Facebook/Twitter, he does a lot of great stuff

in many professional sports, the players have donated to created a fund for retired players from the era before big salaries - especially useful for American football where careers are short and brain injuries are common wouldn't it be nice to see that in music? Jeff could use his recent profits to help fund the home for aging rockers. imagine what kind of place that might be - memory care - trying to remember the chords and lyrics, arguing "no, that's not how that one goes!"; breaking guitars for physical therapy sort of like an Ozzy tour

[/quote] Exactly! The band like this Jeff Lynne’s ELO (with Mike Stevens as the musical director) sounds inevitably different. The band is bigger, to start with, more individual players and background singers than on the records. Overdubbings never sound same. If you ask me, the sound is definitely ”live”. Besides, say, Milton McDonald’s guitar solos are unique. Roll Over Beethoven was great with solos from both Jeff and Milton, and pianosolo of course, too. Thanks for information about Tim Routledge! Great pics in facebook.

I haven't got my tickets yet, when should I worry? Jeff's already gotten as far as Nottingham! I know Wembley tickets arrived late but Liverpool isn't Wembley.
Until I get tickets in my grubby little hands seeing Jeff live is purely hypothetical.

My Liverpool tickets arrived a few days ago, quite disappointed they aren't much to look at, just two on a page you have to detach

I ordered direct from the Echo itself. I thought they'd come quicker than tickets from TicketDisaster. It's been so long since I paid for them.
