BSJ USA!!! USA!!! Knew Damey wouldn't let me us down!
Looks to me like this is "gauging interest" exercise to maybe assess the size of the venues/tour?

They have to be especially smart in America about the venues they pick... taking into account Americans' short attention spans and generally terrible musical tastes. I want Jeff to tour like crazy but I also want whatever he does to be a success. It would be bad for us if he got all squirrelly about doing U.S. shows again. Are you in the U.S. rooster ?

Pardon me for asking a silly question, but does anyone have the list of dates for the UK next year?

Pardon me for asking a silly question, but does anyone have the list of dates for the UK next year? We wish we did have a list, I can only find Birmingham 10th October 2018 at the moment, keep checking back as this thread will be updated as and when we find out.

Still (at this point) being billed as the "Alone In The Universe" tour? From the man who never tours to one of the longest tours I can remember. What a transformation!!

I think you're right, I know it's very different circumstances to the doomed Zoom tour but they need to be careful with the US. I'm in England so have had the joy of being at Hyde Park, the O2 & Wembley and Wembley Arena (or the Empire Pool as it was then) in 1978 & 1981. After those two dates I thought that was it so these last 3 years have been unbelievable 😀😀

I totally agree, elophile (and that's what my comment about Detroit's stadium was about). I believe Jeff Lynne is way more proud about people's response than he lets on and he was hurt about American people not caring for his 2001 tour. I think the organizer's approach needs to be conservative, not risking much. Rather go for a smaller venue and make sure you sell it out than go for a larger one which is half empty and conveys the feeling that people in America aren't interested enough in Jeff's shows.
