ok, this one is a stretch, but I just heard Cliff Hillis singing "Lay Low" on my local station it's a Starbelly tune that Cliff wrote and sings lead on
next Friday, The Orchestra is playing in New Jersey some very lucky ELO fans bought tickets for a tribute band which had to back out - so the venue booked The Orchestra instead a nice upgrade imo

If so then it's a nice surprise.

according to an ELO fan on FB, he received this message to ticket holders from Mayo Performing Arts Center: Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Evil Woman: The American ELO cannot perform on May 20, but we're thrilled that we are able to present The Orchestra in their place. (someone should tell elophile that there are tickets available - I think Morristown is fairly close to her)

One could say that The Orchestra are an American ELO tribute band (apart from Mik)...

The Orchestra is over in Israel to play several shows and a local TV station had them on for a preview. 3 acoustic renditions of the classic hits. Mik seems to have lost his violin? Kidding of course, but it would have been nice to hear him play the intro for Livin' Thing. www.facebook.com/kanbetil/videos/549162090099951

Currently watching "Get Back", the epic Beatles doc about the "Let it Be" recording sessions. Absolutely fascinating to see the personal band dynamics at this stage as they headed for break-up and the songwriting process of some classic songs.
What caught my attention was Lennon name-checking The Move after he'd seen them on tv the night before referring to the way they set up their individual mics and tbat tbey didnt seem like a traditional band, which he liked.

While on vacation in Tennessee for a week, we heard "I won't back down" (the original by Tom Petty with a little help from JL) being played by a local band this afternoon in a bar in the Broadway Street entertainment district in Nashville. We were just walking down the street taking in the scenery, and heard the music coming out of the bar, one of many with live music that flows out into the street all hours of the day and night. We were actually across the street and didn't bother to get the name of the band, but they were pretty good.

We have enjoyed our brief time in Nashville, but it's just our overnight stop on the long road trip to and from Memphis, Tennessee, our actual destination. We (just my music student son and me this time) focused on music and civil rights heritage in the city, and spent time with friends while there. On a future trip we might spend more time in Nashville, but Memphis was amazing!
